As a slightly lighter sibling to one of the greatest headphones of all time, the LCD4z still offers an incredibly competent sound similar to that of the LCD4. With it’s immense musicality and immersive soundstage it takes on music with prowess and yet somehow still manages to be elegant and beautifully articulate in its representation. The LCD4z, unlike it’s bigger brother is somewhat easier to match to a dedicated amplifier. Offering up a resistance of just 15 ohms this makes the LCD4z a much easier companion for your home system with regards to synergy. As a downside to the reduction in weight on this headphone the newly created planar drivers do have slightly reduced treble extension meaning that it offers a slightly smoother, softer sound than it’s bigger brother.
