The year 2020 and lots of simply incredible things have already happened and now Vision Ears want to jump on the band wagon with the launch of EVE20. Their very first universal earphone to be launched since the astronomically great flagship ERLKONiG.
The EVE20 is a very limited edition earphone and will only be produced during 2020, hence it’s name. Next year a new earphone will be produced called EVE21 and so on. The gorgeous olive shell and dark red faceplate is very classy. Both have been embellished with Vision Ears Logo along with EVE on the right earpiece.
Sonically, EVE20 went straight into our carefully curated portfolio upon listening to it for just a short period of time. The earphone performs exceptionally well and I can liken it to the VE8, one of my all time favourite earphones, sadly VE8 was never available as a universal solution so never quit fit the brief at Audio Concierge. EVE20 drops down by 2 drivers from the VE8 but tonally is very similar. The soundstage is expansive and the treble is beautifully articulate to give enough sparkle without being harsh. Vocals are sensually dominant in the soundstage and really demonstrate the prowess of EVE20’s dedicated balanced armature midrange drivers.
Bass has plenty of texture and digs deep into the mix. Due to the vocals being so beautifully present in the mix, they never get clouded by rumbling bass that’s on offer.
Fit and finish is typically Vision Ears. A great ergonomic shape fits deep inside the ear and seats well to offer an excellent seal by just using the supplied SpinFit ear tips. Unlike ERLKONiG, Vision Ears chose to use a slightly different cable terminated to 3.5mm with EVE20, perfect for use with smartphones or portable audio players. The malleable earhooks offer further stability in the ear and a chin strap can be moved for extra comfort.
