I am elated to be able to offer my clients the astonishing Metal Magic Research Thummim earphones. The exquisite Thummim features unique technology to achieve the best possible performance from 9 drivers including the encased quad electrostatic drivers. These earphones have been developed from the ground up to provide the ultimate in sonic reproduction.
I initially heard the Thummim back in 2020 and was instantly astounded at its presentation, depth, soundstage, impact and gravitas. It immediately entered my all time favourite earphone list and continued to astonish me as each track was effortlessly played through them. These are 100% and Audio Concierge Hall of Fame product.
Known for crafting IEMs in exotic shapes and robust build, MMR has shown their dedication and finesse in the realm of aesthetics design, constantly outdoing their previous works in search of a higher summit; Bringing about a breath of fresh air in the IEM industry with their unconventional style of design and challenging the absolute boundaries of IEM architecture.
The product philosophy behind the Thummim is no different, using their proprietary technology, they have engineered a precision sound chamber and acoustic system that has been tuned for each individual driver. The Thummim features a whopping 4 electrostatic drivers per ear, including 2 vented midrange drivers, 2 high frequency and 1 custom dynamic low driver for it’s incredible sonic prowess.
In order for Thummim to know where to send the correct frequency, it uses an MMR developed a 4 way, passive electro frequency division crosssover.
For the purpose of the Thummim project, MMR specifically developed an advanced 4-way electro-frequency division (MMR 4-Way EFD) system that is infused with passive electronic components. The frequencies are meant to encompass a perfect division of Low , Mid , Mid High and Super Highs. Coupled with a specific RLC filter circuit to allow calculated electronic signal of various frequency band to conjoin at specific drivers.
Thummim’s exquisite body is built with the lightweight titanium in a smooth gunmetal color scheme. The chassis shell utilizes various angles to help dissipate any internal standing waves and in turn improve on the sonic reproduction of your favourite music.
Thummim is available in three awesome packages. The Thummim is packaged with an ultra high quality Eletech cable with a choice of either 4.4mm, 2.5mm or 3.5mm termination.
