Shanling Q2 Compact Portable Digital Audio Player

The Shanling Q2 combines powerful Hi-Fi performance with a compact, distinctive design inspired by classic portable music players. Measuring just 80 × 50 × 13.5mm and weighing only 83g, it is easy to carry while still offering the connections, power and playback features expected from a modern high-resolution audio player.

At the heart of the Q2 is a quad-DAC arrangement using four Cirrus Logic CS43131 chips. This delivers support for audio up to 768kHz/32-bit and native DSD512, with four selectable digital filter modes for adjusting the sound to suit your preferences.

Both 3.5mm single-ended and 4.4mm balanced connections are included. The balanced output provides up to 425mW at 32 ohms, giving the Q2 enough power to drive a wide selection of earphones and portable headphones. Both connections can also function as line outputs for use with external amplifiers or powered audio systems.

Operation combines a responsive 2.09-inch touchscreen with a circular touch controller featuring haptic feedback. Shanling’s in-house MTouch operating system and Ingenic X2000 processor provide a smooth, straightforward interface for browsing music and controlling playback.

The Q2 supports microSD cards up to 2TB, providing plenty of space for large lossless music collections. Built-in Wi-Fi enables Tidal Online playback, DLNA and AirPlay, while two-way Bluetooth 5.2 allows the player to both transmit and receive audio using codecs including LDAC, aptX HD, aptX, AAC and SBC.

USB DAC and USB transport modes allow the Q2 to be used with computers, smartphones and external digital audio equipment. With approximately 13.5 hours of playback per charge and an included TPU protective case, it is designed for convenient everyday listening at home or on the move.
